The Civil Protection in General
Civil Protection officers, referred to in brief as CPs, Metrocops or Metropolice, are essentially the thought police of Central 17 and all other cities.
Civil Protection is the Combine's law enforcement agency on Earth. Also referred to as metrocops, Civil Protection units are shown to be ordinary humans wearing light armor and gas masks. They are usually armed with electroshock weapons and pistols, and occasionally are seen using submachine guns. Metrocops are shown to be brutal in their methods, keeping the local populace in line via intimidation and physical force. Interrogation, questioning, inspections, random beatings, and even outright murder are all used as a means of policing their respective jurisdictions. In the outskirts to Central 17, Civil Protection units are observed patrolling for escapees from the city. Civil Protection officers are in constant contact with Combine Overwatch headquarters, which gives them objectives and situation updates. Upon the death of an officer, metrocop armor will inform headquarters of the fatality and advise nearby units as to the place of death
Civil Protection officers are ordinary human beings who have willingly joined the Combine, either for more privileges, such as additional food and better living conditions, they have given up on their life, or simply for entitled thuggery. As such, they are not bio-mechanically modified in any way unless volunteered to undergo certain operations which allow them to replace a section of thought or action with a machine's power and thinking skills, giving them an advantage in certain situations.
Appearance and Capabilities
Civil Protection officers wear white masks which contain a radio and air filters, and looks similar to a gas mask. The mask obscures the officer's face, and alters the sound of his/her voice, making it sound more mechanical and intimidating. Officers wear a combat vest, leather boots with a black-green uniform and an armband on the right arm, with "c17:14" emblazoned on it.
Civil Protection officers are typically armed with Pistols and Stun Batons. When needed and in more critical circumstances, Officers will come armed with SMG1s. Some officers are armed with a deployable Manhack and/or flare guns to call for help. Officers are almost always encountered in squads, and will employ very basic tactics, such as covering one another and running to cover when injured or reloading. Officers normally attack in an aggressive manner, pursuing targets that get away.
Civil Protection are generally kept separate from Combine military units, such as Overwatch Soldiers or Synths, and stay in a policing role within the cities. They travel in APCs.

The leader....or leaders of the Civil Protection. Only the higher ups in the Combine know if it's one person running the CP or two. The Director recruits new units to the Civil Protection and terminates unworthy maggots. The Director tries to stay in the shadows, only appearing to deal with major situations or to set a troublesome Unit straight.

Division Supervisor(s)
The Division Supervisor monitors all lower-ranking Civil Protection units to ensure they are performing their duties up to the high standards of the Combine. They report the activities of the units to the Civil Protection Director, who then makes a decision on what to do. The Division Supervisor will also command the lower ranking officers in situations involving armed anti-citizens.

The Elite Shock Unit or ESU in short, is a unit equipped with more armour than a CP unit. The ESU is used for defending checkpoints, securing building perimeters in defensive roles, and infiltrating buildings with armed anti-citizens.

The lowest rank within the Civil Protection. At this stage you are a worthless maggot. You can work your way up by participating in RP scenarios. These units are assigned to less dangerous jobs such as opening the airlocks for other officers, patrolling the Nexus, and guarding the prison cells.
